Off to Pennsylvania I Go!
Off to Pennsylvania I Go!
Off to Pennsylvania I Go!
Well, I'm off to Pennsylvania for my cousin's wedding. Should be interesting, since I'm not going to know anyone there! Me, my mom and dad are flying out there tomorrow morning. Hopefully my mom will be ok. I have no idea what we're going to be doing when we get there. It should be tons of fun (hear the sarcasm?) But the wedding should be a good time. I always have fun at weddings. Too bad Dave couldn't be there. I watched the season premiere of Friends today. I was thinking that they would stretch out the whole engagement/propsal thing, but it was a great episode! It's always been about Ross and Rachel. He's her lobster! I'm in a much better mood after watching. ER was a TOTAL shocker today. When Romano lost his arm, I gasped - I wasn't expecting it AT ALL! Ohh....it's going to get good. Hopefully they get some new cast members in. With Dr. Green gone, Carter moves into his place. And everyone else moves up in the ranks. We need a new intern! STAT! If you're ever bored, and you want to make your own online movie, try out Digital Films. It's really easy to make a mini movie here, and you can send them to your friends. You know. Your friends that have blogs that you read every day. Purple themed blogs. Yeah...that friend. *wink* And a big welcome to Amy, who finally got over her fears of me thinking that she's stalking me and has started making comments. Glad to see you here! And I knew you were stalking me BEFORE you started posting.

I'm Glad that Friends is on Today!
I'm Glad that Friends is on Today!
I'm Glad that Friends is on Today!
Today was a SUPER TOUGH day at work. For some reason, I got everyone's left over calls, and they were all tough. It's hard to work on a person's problem after someone else has been working on it for a while. I'm so frustrated! I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off today! There was no time for rest for me at all, and I actually snapped at people a couple times. I don't like snapping at people! I even ate at the Chinese buffet today, and all that crab rangoon did not lift up my spirits. Grr....luckily the Friends premiere is on tonight, and I should be in a better mood. I better be!!! CD for the Commute Home - Lenny Kravitz: Greatest Hits - Lenny has got to be one of the coolest guys ever to walk the earth. 'Are You Gonna Go My Way' is one of my favorite videos, and such a great song. There are a lot of groovy tunes on this CD, like 'American Woman', 'Believe' and a slew of others.

Yano in a Strange Land
Yano in a Strange Land
Yano in a Strange Land
Well, just got done reading Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A Heinlein. I really liked the book. It's a science fiction book, but it's really light on the science fiction, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try out science fiction, but doesn't want anything TOO sci-fi. The book "is the story of Valentine Michael Smith, born during, and the only survivor of, the first manned mission to Mars. Michael is raised by Martians, and he arrives on Earth as a true innocent: he has never seen a woman and has no knowledge of Earth's cultures or religions." It's interesting to see Heinlein weave the story of Michael's adjustment to earth, our society and customs. Read it! I had myself a less than adequate McDonald's Peanut Butter Cup McFlurry today. VERY disappointing. Something I also realized today, was that about 75% of my posts have to do with food. *oink* *oink* How I love food! The new TV season is upon us. I don't know if I'll have the time or attention span to catch any of the new shows out there, it's the returning shows that I'm interested in. My top shows for this season are Friends, CSI, Will & Grace, Buffy, Smallville, Angel, and Law and Order. And John Doe is the only new show that I'm excited about watching - the season premiere was definitely entertaining, and I admit I'm a little hooked. And contrary to popular belief, it's not that ass shot in the first episode that sealed the deal. But it did help! I still get so surprised seeing butts on TV. I might also try checking out Push, Nevada sometime. I've heard that show was pretty good, too. As for the Buffy premiere, I was left with more questions than answers. I think Joss Whedon is back in good form. Looks like it's going to be a great season for that show. There are so many possibilities that could have come out of last nights premiere - Buffy as a counselor? Spike with his soul back? Xander in a tie? Mind-blowing. Definitely. And anyone have any ideas about the first 10 minutes in Istanbul? Smallville was good, too. Clark is such a thick-headed dope, but you gotta love that hunka-man-of-steel. Did anyone hear about Randy Moss running over a traffic cop? What's up with that? And the Vikings are letting him start this weekend. Grr. He didn't seem remorseful at all. They were also showing a clip of him running away from reporters, and running over a camera-woman. I just had to laugh. Tonight, I clean my room. Wish me luck. For those of you that know me, you know that I'll need it! I don't think I mentioned this before, but there are a couple new pictures in my picture page. Just click on the link on the left.

Damn, how many of these quiz-type things are out there?

I am Belle!
Which Disney Princess are you?

You are a true bookworm and dream of a life better than the simple, quiet one you lead now. Your good looks can attract the town jerks, but you manage to ignore them most of the time. Sometimes you feel like you're surrounded by idiots. So what are you waiting for? You don't need your father to be kidnapped to get out and see the world. Although you can be stubborn, you're also very compassionate and see beyond people's façades.

Going Back in Time
Going Back in Time
Going Back in Time
Well, BloggerPro wrote to me and asked me to recount my highschool memories on my blog. Here goes! Anyway, I don't remember much of high school. I was a nerd. A band nerd. I loved music, I loved band. Everything you saw in American Pie, that was me (well, I didn't play the flute). We went to band camp. We went on band trips. And any conversations we had outside of those places were about those places. We hung out together all the time, partied together, dated each other. A nice little nerd community. But some of the best, most genuine people I've ever known. My band director was the best teacher I ever had. Ever watch Mr. Holland's Opus? He was a little something like that. As for other people in my class, I remember a bunch of snobby popular people. People who really didn't care to get to know the person inside, who just saw a social stereotype and treated it accordingly. Of course, there were exceptions, and I did have good friends in school. It wasn't as horrible of an experience as I may portray it to be. There were a lot of great teachers, great enough to make me forget the awful ones. I did lots of stuff. I was vice-president of the Math Club because I knew that the VP didn't have any responsibilities. I was on the academic team. I loved the chicken hoagies in the cafeteria. I drew the cover of our literary magazine. I loved listening to 'Supersonic' and 'Brown Eyed Girl' on the jukebox in the cafeteria. I was in the drama club, but never tried out for any school plays. I was a super nerd. But I woudn't have had it any other way. There were a lot of great experiences. Many laughs shared, a lot of growing up done together. When I look back, it seems that I was so innocent then, so unaware of how complicated life could be outside of those halls. It always comes down to that phrase 'If I knew then what I know now...' I would have really caused a ruckus in school! Yeah, so that's it in a very small nutshell.

Little Circles of Happiness
Little Circles of Happiness
Little Circles of Happiness
Oh be still my heart! I come into work late today and there are Krispy Kreme donuts waiting for me. Oh, the world hath not heard such a noise as the sound of my happy belly singing the praises of those little circles of fluffy heaven. Sure, I'll meet my fat quota of the day in a single sitting, and my arteries are clogging up as we speak, but there is a sweet smile of blissful happiness on my face. For those of you who have never had a Krispy Kreme, my heart goes out to you. For most of my life, I was a Dunkin Donuts fan. Oh yes, I even applied to work there. But after being told repeatedly by a friend from the south, 'You ain't had donuts til you had a Krispy Kreme' I tried one. And my life has never been the same again! Watched the Emmy's yesterday, and I love Conan. I was hoping that he'd be a lot sillier, but he still did a great job. It was really nice that 'Friends' won best comedy, considering that this may be the last season. And surprise surprise, West Wing got best drama. I was hoping that Six Feet Under would pull an upset. I don't have HBO, but whenever I'm on the road I try to catch it whenever I can. I also really enjoyed Oprah's speech that she made after getting the Bob hope Humanitarian award. If you want to see a wrap-up of the show, check it out on E!-Online.

Why I Love Football Commentators
Why I Love Football Commentators
Why I Love Football Commentators
So it's sunday football time. I'm watching the Bears and they're giving the New Orleans Saints a spanking, leading the game 20 to 0 after the first quarter. The Saints are getting disheartened. In the middle of the second quarter, the announcers says 'The foul smell of dead carcasses is coming from the field. The Saints really need to come back to life.' These guys crack me up. But then again, damn them for jinxing the Bears. The Saints got a second wind and won the game. Bastards. Yesterday I went to my cousin's bridal shower. I haven't seen her in a couple years, and she's been living in England for a while. Which is where she met her husband-to-be. But he's not English, for those of you that will be asking if he's got an English accent. He's from Pennsylvania. So his whole family drove over from Pennsylvania for the shower, and they are the nicest bunch of people you'll ever meet. And it's good to know that my cousin is in good hands because you can easily see how much her fiance cares about her, and her about him. They make a really great couple. Next week's wedding should be fun! I haven't had a chance to take a good pick of the darker 'do, but here's one that I took yesterday. The angle is weird because I'm the one taking the pic, and I don't think you can get a good view of the blackness. Maybe I can get one of the guys to take a pic of me tomorrow. Are you bored today? Feel like finding out what personality type you are? I got a link to the Myer-Briggs personality test from Corin. I'm an Introvert Intuitive Feeling Perceiving (INFP), which according to Keirsey.com makes me a Healer (look at the bottom), me and 1% of the population. So what are you?
